January's Ipod Playlist |
January's favorite tunes from her ipod:

“Pearl’s Dream” by Bat For Lashes (Track 1) : “I love her voice and am just amazed at the range of talent. The song is so beautiful. I love the beat and the haunting lyrics.”

“Into the Ocean” by Blue October (Track 2) : “This song is one of my favorites. It’s sort of my anthem lately. I sometimes want to swim away, but don’t know how.”

“Quelqu’un m’a dit” by Carla Bruni (Track 3) : “I really hope she continues making music, even though she’s now the first lady of France. I love her voice, and this song just puts me in a light, happy mood.”

“Lullaby” by The Cure (Track 4) : “Where do I begin? This has to be one of the sexiest songs I’ve ever heard. Love the Cure and saw them at The Hollywood Bowl a while back. So weird and amazing!”

“Cumulus” by Imogen Heap (Track 5) : “I love anything and everything she does, but this song, even though it doesn’t have any lyrics, is just one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard.”

“Crabbuckit” by K-OS (Track 6) : “I first heard this song when I was in Canada years ago. It’s so fun! Love the beat! Sticks with you all day!”

“This Woman’s Work” by Maxwell (Track 7) : “This song makes me so sad, in a good-sad kind of way.”

“Give Into Me” by Michael Jackson (Track 8): “This may not be an obvoius choice, but I’ve been a fan since I was three-years-old, and this is the song I always listen to first when I put him on. It’s a little different from his other stuff. I’ll miss him.”

“Quiet Dog” by Mos Def (Track 9) : “I just heard this recently, and I can’t stop playing it! Such a great beat. My only criticism is that it’s too short.”

“Father and Daughter” by Paul Simon (Track 10) : “I think this is quite possibly the sweetest song in the world. I’m a daddy’s girl. so it makes me smile.”

“Roads” by Portishead (Track 11) : “I think the live version of this is best. She’s so cool and sexy. This is the band I’ve always wanted to see in concert and haven’t gotten a chance to. Yet!”

“Climbing Up the Walls” by Radiohead (Track 12) : “This song reminds me of a lonely time in my life, when I was 19-years-old and living alone in Paris. Had it on repeat for three months. Weirdly, it only brings me peace now.”

“Break It Down Again” by Tears for Fears (Track 13) : “This is my favorite band of all-time! I love everything Tears For Fears has ever done. This song makes me feel strong and want to dance (which is not necessarily a good thing).”

“Ramalama (Bang Bang)” by Roisin Murphy (Track 14) : “This song is so random but fun/funny. I remember playing it in the car and my sister thought I was nuts, but then it grew on her. You can’t help but wiggle to it.”

“Wildflowers” by Tom Petty (Track 15) : “This song is very nostalgic for me. It reminds me of my best friend. Classic Petty.”
