Her parents are named Karen and Marv. Her parents have been married for almost 30 years.

Her father has worked as a coach in sports at her local high school. Her mother apparently is the manager of a sportswear store.
January talked about her dad in her discussion in 'Interview Magazine'. She stated: "Success for me is to feel happy—80 percent of the time. That’s been my goal in life. I think that comes from my father. He’s a very optimistic, happy person".

She has two sisters, whose first names also begin with the letter 'J'. Their names are Jina and Jacey Jones. January is the eldest sibling.
In an interview January spoke about the women in her family, she said: "I come from a family of very outspoken women. I can’t imagine living in a time when you couldn’t express what you felt". (Also referring to Betty, her character in Mad Men).
